I never actually intended to create a “5-in-1” product. To be honest, that name started as a joke in my studio—a playful way to describe a bar that seemed to do everything.
When most of us hear "5-in-1," we picture those bright bottles on supermarket shelves: harsh, synthetic, and built for speed rather than care. But what I was looking for was something much quieter. I wanted simplicity that actually worked.
A Journey of Curiosity
The Herbal Shampoo Bar didn't begin with a business plan; it began with a year of making soap and a bit of personal experimentation. I started washing my hair with my own plain Castile olive oil soap. It was unscented and gentle—and to my surprise, it worked beautifully.
Over time, curiosity took over. I began adding fresh avocado and rich cocoa butter, noticing how they softened the texture of my hair. Then came the herbs: Calendula, Rosemary, Nettle, and Comfrey. This bar wasn't born from a marketing meeting. It was born in my own shower, through lived experience and a genuine desire to see what nature could do.
One Bar, Many Purposes
Eventually, I noticed that my customers weren't just using it for their hair. They were finding their own ways to use it, proving that good ingredients don't need to stay in one category.

In this bar, every ingredient has a purpose. We infuse our herbs directly into the oils—a slow process that ensures their benefits are part of the soap itself, not just an afterthought.

- Shea & Cocoa Butters: These provide the "conditioning" element, lending a rich creaminess to the lather and leaving skin and hair feeling soft, not stripped.

From My Hands to Yours
I’ve come to realise that “5-in-1” doesn’t quite capture the heart of this bar. It isn't a shortcut; it’s a bar made slowly, by hand, built for care rather than convenience.
It works because the ingredients naturally support both skin and hair. It’s about removing what isn’t needed so that what remains can truly shine. If you’re looking for something uncomplicated that you can trust daily—or pack for a journey—this might be it.
